The Mad Scientist is coming to Sweet Spot to test his Halloween experiments and afterwards we’ll be taste tasting our Halloween sodas. Free.

Family Halloween Haunt. 6-8 p.m. Wilton House Museum.  Bring your little ghouls and goblins to a family-friendly All Hallow’s Eve at Wilton. Enjoy storytelling, a pumpkin hunt and decorating, and costume awards. Guided tours will be available. Reservations required.  Free

Creepy Hollow Scream Park – Virginia’s Halloween legend returns for it’s 19th year! Take a narrated tractor drawn hayride into the depths of Creepy Hollow. This is one ride you’ll need to scream to survive!

Suited for Space opens at the Science Museum of Virginia – “I’m leaving the earth’s atmosphere and I do not have a thing to wear.” How many times have you heard that age old expression? Hanging out in zero gravity seems like a lot of fun, but your favorite t-shirt and jeans will not work. In space, humans need more protection than just a spaceship. We need clothing designed to survive the most hostile of environments. Explore the evolution of spacesuits when Suited for Space is at the Science Museum of Virginia, Saturday, Oct. 15-Saturday, Dec. 31.

Mercedes-Benz Grant Contest for $25,000 – CMoR has been selected as a semi-finalist in a contest by Mercedes-Benz to win a grant prize of $25,000. They would use this money to help upgrade the Water Play exhibit. But in order to win – they need everyone to vote daily on the Mercedes-Benz Facebook. All of the details including a direct link are on CMoR website at http://www.c-mor.org/community-stars . What is even cooler about this is that they are the only non-profit in Virginia in the running, and the only Children’s Museum!

Pumpkin Festival at Chesterfield Berry Farm

Goblins and Gourds.  1pm-4pm.  Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens.  Celebrate harvest-time with a live concert by the Richmond Indigenous Gourd Orchestra, pumpkin painting, costumes and fun for the whole family.
