2012 Richmond Supermom Beth Trebour and her family

Richmondmom’s Supermom Celebration! Many thanks to Stony Point Surgery Center and the amazing sponsors, we were able to promote the Richmondmom contest widely, make a nice donation to CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation and recruit amazing Supermoms from all over the Richmond region. Beth Trebour will be celebrating with family and friends at The Wine Loft in West Broad Village on May 9th, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. and will receive these incredible gifts. Plan to join us!

Heroes of Hope – The Virginia Art Therapy Association will host an art exhibit highlighting “Heroes of Hope” at the Children’s Museum of Richmond. The event will display artwork from individuals around the state who have made art about their “Hero of Hope”. There will also be a panel discussion surrounding the effects of trauma on children, resilience and how caregivers, parents and friends can support children and youth who have experienced a traumatic event. Children and their families will be able to make art about their “Hero of Hope” in the art studio.

Spirited Art is starting a weekday class - every Wednesday, we will be offering an adult class at 11 a.m.  You’re welcome to bring your own lunch/snacks during this weekday class.  Check out our calendar www.myspiritedart.com

Kings Dominion’s Festival Tent for Hanover Rotary Club’s 30th Annual Shrimp & Suds Fundraiser. Enjoy two servings of spiced shrimp with sides, and unlimited drinks (beer and soft drinks). CMoR’s Art Workshops are designed to help children of various ages and abilities and a participating parent explore different art techniques such as painting, sculpture, and printmaking. In each lesson, children learn about the work of a famous artist, and create their own work in that style! Children will be able to take home projects made in these workshops! Ages Art Workshops are designed for children ages 4-9 and an adult.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

Mother’s Day Family Painting Session - Come on out and paint for Mother’s Day. This painting is perfect for tweens, teeens and adults! We provide all of the supplies, you simply come ready to have fun and relax!

Proceeds from this year’s tour benefit The Byrd Theatre, Helping Hands Veterinary Surgery & Dental Care, Fan Free Clinic, and Caritas.

Mother’s Day at The Science Museum of Virginia – here’s a mother you don’t want to miss. Watch as she risks her life to save her babies at “To the Arctic”.

Mothers’ Day Sunday, May 13, 1-4 p.m. – Treat Mom to a special day! Enjoy a free concert in the Garden at Lewis Ginter (included in admission). Brunch is available in the Robins Tea House by reservation; food also available for purchase in the Garden Café or a la carte in the Garden.

Mother’s Day Evening Concert with the Richmond Concert Band.  6pm-8pm.  The Richmond Concert Band will perform their annual Mother’s Day concert on the lawn at Agecroft Hall. FilmRoasters at The Firehouse: Teenage Mother – Improv comedy in the style of Mystery Science Theater 3000!  May 13th is Mother’s Day, and what better way to celebrate the woman who squeezed you out of her vagina than to riff a 60′s exploitation flick made to scare the joys of motherhood out of high school students all over the country?
