The Richmond celebrities behind Young House Love bring some DIY ingenuity to the show.
RICHMOND, VA –The 11th Annual MAC Events Home & Garden Show brings the flair and creativity of Richmond’s own Do-It-Yourself blogger/authors, Sherry and John Petersik of Young House Love, www.younghouselove.com. This popular couple will offer up the latest in inspiring ideas and encouragement for home and garden enthusiasts of all skill levels on Saturday and Sunday of the three-day event, which runs February 7-9 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
The Petersik’s journey, which began as a personal project blog in 2007 has flourished into more than 6 million page views per month and a NY Times bestselling book entitled: Young House Love, as well as a bevy of articles and interviews in print and on television including a recent profile on Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday. They will talk about the renovations to their third and latest home and offer up tales of successful and not-so-successful DIY projects.
Fans of the couple rave about their humorous and humble style and easy-to-follow suggestions. After they appeared on the Nate Berkus Show in 2010, the designer chimed in by saying, “First of all they’re adorable.” The Petersiks appeared on his show as DIY experts and judges for a design challenge. “Their delivery is particularly charming and endearing and their information is delivered in a smart way.”
The hometown celebrities will speak on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and will be available to sign books on Saturday.
The show affords discerning homeowners the convenience of seeing the latest products and trends in residential and landscaping design showcased by Richmond’s finest companies. Hundreds of experts come together to offer sound advice and money-saving ideas for everything related to the home.
