The School of Performing Arts in the Richmond community – SPARC – has provided incredible performing arts experience to students in the Richmond area for over 30 years. SPARC has full-day and half-day camps for students ages 4 to 18. With camps from June to August, every student can find a camp to help them shine!

Half day students will attend from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., with optional after-care available from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Each summer, SPARC’s SummerStarz performing ensemble brings a free, family-friendly performance to over 1,000 people in the community. In 2015, SummerStarz will perform the brand new, award winning musical The Grunch. Summerstarz rehearses for five weeks and then tours the Metro Richmond area for several performances, from July 20-24, 2015.

Learning to audition well is not easy! Students will focus on monologue selections, character development and audition management practices under the guidance of experienced professionals. Heart of Ireland
Our 4-day Irish dance camps will give your dancer a taste of both group and solo Irish dancing. Camps meet Monday to Thursday for 2 hours each day – in one week, your dancer will receive the equivalent of 8 weeks of classes! Beginners will learn the basics of soft shoe dancing and show off their skills at an end-of-week mini Feis on Thursday. Campers in our Advanced Beginner/Intermediate camp will hone soft and hard shoe skills and work on drills and brush-up for the fall semester.

Passion Academy Frozen Summer Camp
Come enjoy a week to indulge and explore the music and characters of Disney’s “Frozen” in our Drama Camp.  They will learn diction and vocal projection, stage direction and presence, blocking, improvisational skills, participate in character studies of different “Frozen” characters/animals, and participate in sensory exercises to enhance their acting skills. This camp will conclude with an ensemble musical performance applying the skills the children have learned. Two sessions in July.

Spring and summer workshops and camps include: Introduction to Shakespeare; Festival Young Company; and Shakespeare Summer Camp. Give your child the opportunity to find the joy of studying and performing in a Shakespeare play in a low-pressure atmosphere. At the same time as they grapple with Shakespeare’s words and plots, they will gain an appreciation of the greatest dramatist in the English language. Taught by the experts at Henley Street Theatre and Richmond Shakespeare.

SPARC has full-day and half-day camps for students ages 4 to 18. Our summer campsSPARC are filled with singing, acting, dancing, friends and fun! Virginia Rep: Theatre IV Stage Explorers Camp. Join us this summer for Stage Explorers Camp at the Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn. In just two weeks your child will learn everything it takes to put on a show in a professional theatre. From singing, acting and dancing, to lights, sound and sets, and everything in between!  No audition is necessary for this fun-filled camp, full of exploration, investigation and imagination! Stage Explorers Summer Camp is for rising first through sixth graders.

Jazz Boot Camp 2014 Our unique and intensive summer music camp experience is for youth ages 10-17 with previous experience on their instrument (brass, woodwind, percussion, piano, bass, and guitar).

Key Signatures Rock Star Camp is a week-long summer camp that runs from 10:00am to 12:00, Monday-Friday, with sessions running weekly June 4th-July 20th.

Orchestra Project. Orchestra Project is an exciting summer music camp staffed entirely by some of the most talented players and teachers in Richmond.

School of Rock For more than a decade, School of Rock has been inspiring kids of all ages to rock on stage and in life. Four week long camps run from 9a-2p exploring a new rock genre each week: History of Punk- June 16-20, Led Zeppelin- June 23-27, Beatles- July 7-11, and ROCK 101 (beginners only) Aug 4-8.

The Greater Richmond School of Music. Dates vary by program – Camps include ROCK CAMP, Piano Camp, Chamber Music Workshop, and the St. Cecilia Summer Music Festival.
