Cool off with Christmas in July at Short Pump Mall on July 23.

Brrrrr…….baby, it’s cold outside!

No, wait – save that for Christmas!

Macy’s Christmas in July

But don’t miss the Christmas in July event on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Macy’s in Short Pump Town Center from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. This is an event with plenty of fun and enjoyment for the entire family — and all for a great cause.

On Saturday, Macy’s will have a marathon Christmas concert by Cold Harbor, Chris Lucas and Laura Ann Singh, The Taters and Offering, and more. Appearances by Santa and lots of Christmas characters will also be on hand for the event. It’s a fun time for great shopping discounts for adults — while kids enjoy plenty of games and even  Christmas-tree decorating fun.

You can purchase donation-based ornaments for $1-$5 to decorate the tree. It’s all to benefit the Central Virginia Food Bank and shoppers are asked to bring non-perishable food items if possible. The most needed items are canned tuna and peanut butter.

Main Plaza Christmas celebrations

The fun doesn’t stop at Macy’s either. From 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., there’s plenty of Christmas fun in the Main Plaza. Bring your canned food to any store in the mall and it will be donated to the CVFB.

So get ready to enjoy a cool time inside at Macy’s, while the heat scorches outside on Saturday in Short Pump Mall. Then head over to the Main Plaza for even more fun and even a visit with Santa.
