Do you want to learn how Richmond moms train to run in local competitions and succeed? Then, train with the Mother Runner Training team to complete the Richmond Half-Marathon (13.1 miles) or 8k (4.9 miles) in November 2012.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete who has become a little rusty, or a newbie to running, you’ll find the program, pace, and encouragement you need to succeed at Mom’s Treehouse.
The program is open for moms, grandmoms, single women, or anyone who wants to build speed, strength and stamina for the upcoming races – or just to get in shape.

How People Make Things- Through Sunday, October 7, use real tools, materials, machines and processes of manufacturing in this interactive exhibition inspired by the factory tour segments from the “Mister Roger’s Neighborhood” television series. Wild in the City: Slip, Sip and Zip! This tour showcases the exciting opportunities for adventure recreation in the middle of downtown Richmond. Suitable for ages 8 and up, this adventure introduces guests to the beautiful and historic James River with its Class IV rapids running through downtown and includes parts of Shockoe Slip. You won’t get wet, but you will walk on bridges and a pipeline that overlook the river, enjoy a picnic lunch from Alamo BBQ at historic Tredegar delivered by Quickness RVA, and head to Belle Isle for a zip along Passages Adventure Camp’s thrilling zipline over the Belle Isle Quarry. Experience what Richmond’s riverfront has to offer–hiking, history, and heights! Tour runs with an 8 person minimum. You may purchase a ticket that includes the zipline or one that does not. A waiver must be signed to use the zipline. Children under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian. There is a 250 lb. limit to use the zipline.

Short Pump Summer Concert Series – The Summer Concert Series returns beginning June 21st and continuing every Thursday evening (weather permitting) through August 16th. Concerts begin at 6:00 PM and run until 8:00 PM in the Main Plaza – July 26 – The Slack Family (Contemporary Bluegrass).
Work It, Richmond’s Birthday Party – It may be hard to believe, but Work It, Richmond is turning one. So join us for fun, socializing and networking at Pasture, one of the many cool small businesses we’ve discovered during the past year. This is a casual event. No agenda, no speaker (unless Jacob starts giving toasts), no need to wear a tie. Don’t miss out!
