Honor Declan's life by helping raising funds for J4AC.

Journey 4 A Cure (J4AC)

is an organization that every mom wishes we did not even have to have. But we do, and we are thankful for J4AC.

J4AC is devoted to raising money to advance research efforts and development for pediatric cancer. They focus on creating awareness about the realities of pediatric cancer and providing support, outreach and caring for families facing unthinkable journeys with a child suffering from cancer.

Declan remembered

Journey 4 A Cure was established in November 2010 to honor and remember Declan Black Carmical and many other children who have died  or battled pediatric cancer. Declan lost his brave battle just 8 days before his 1st birthday, but thanks to the love and support of his family and friends, this powerful organization was born to help others.

Declan’s smile and zest for life in spite of his fight with cancer during his almost one year of life, gave his parents and others the will and motivation to create a movement to help others. The organization is all about embarking on a powerful Journey that begins with each person and ends with a cure!

Benefits for J4AC

The August 10, 2011 Wine Down Wednesday event at The Wine Loft will benefit the J4AC organization. We encourage everyone to attend this fun social event, enjoy discounted prices on wine, free food, music, and lots of fun. There are door prizes, and there will be a brief presentation and information provided about J4AC. For just $5 at the door, you can help a very worthy cause and enjoy socializing with friends and family.

In addition, J4AC also has these events planned:

  • 5k/1k & Family Funfest on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Summerlake Neighborhood in Richmond VA. Event is 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • 4-A-Cure Fest at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, VA is 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8.

Click here for details on above events.

Help us find a cure

Please plan to attend the August 10, 2011 Wine Down Wednesday event to benefit this important cause. Bring a friend and spread the word so we can help find a cure for pediatric cancer and honor Declan for the joy he brought to so many in his brief life here on earth.

If you can’t attend this event, please visit the website and learn more or donate.
