Virginia Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce that it will offer day camps for rising 1^st-10^th graders and a half-day camp for preschoolers and rising kindergarteners.

Virginia Rep’s fun-filled camps are full of exploration, investigation and imagination. Our unique and fun day camps provide an exciting and comprehensive understanding of professional theatre performance and production for students from preschool through 10th grade. With instruction by some of Virginia’s finest theatre artists and educators, your dramatic student will have a theatrical experience like no other!

Dramatic Adventures Half-Day Camp for Preschoolers

For 3 to 5 year olds
The ideal first theatre camp for your preschool aged child. Stories come alive through creative drama as we use our bodies, voices, and imaginations to embark on a multi-sensory journey through a favorite book. Each day your child will enjoy music, movement, and craft activities. The Dramatic Adventurers will have the opportunity to invite their parents into the theatre to share what they have learned throughout the week.

Stage Explorers Summer Day Camp

For Rising 1st – 6th Graders
At Stage Explorers Summer Camp, your child will learn everything it takes to put on a show in a professional theatre. From center stage to backstage, no corner of the Children’s Theatre goes unexplored as campers learn about singing, acting, dancing, lights, sound, sets, and everything in between!

Virginia Rep in Hanover – Charlie Brown Day Camp

For rising 1st – 8th graders
Bringing the legacy of Barksdale Theatre back to Hanover County, Virginia Rep in partnership with Hanover County Parks and Recreation will offer a two week Charlie Brown themed performance camp.

Young Performers Institute

For Rising 7th – 10th Graders
A more mature, in-depth version of our Stage Explorers Summer Camp, Young Performers Institute will give your middle or early high school student professional opportunities to dive deep into theatrical performance and design.

Summer Showtime! Musical Theatre Day Camp (BY AUDITION)

For Rising 3rd – 10th Graders
Back by popular demand this performance camp is designed with the musical theatre lover in mind. This is your child’s opportunity to experience a professional level rehearsal process culminating with multiple performances on the Children’s Theatre stage, all within the span of just two weeks!

All Fired Up Art Richmond Summer Camp 2013

Get All Fired Up about art this summer!

All Fired Up Art Camp is an art-intensive summer camp offering specialized instruction and a variety of projects in several art media. Each week has a unique theme where campers explore media including clay, ceramics, glass fusing, drawing, wheel-throwing, tie-dye, painting, and more! Children create 10-14 projects per week!

This summer All Fired Up is offering 10 camp sessions starting June 17 and running through August 23 for ages 6 – 14 at all three studio locations: Carytown, Midlothian, and Short Pump. Each camp session begins at 9am and runs until 1pm. Cost is $200, plus tax which includes all materials and instruction.

Three camp sessions (Pets, Wild West, and Crazy Creatures) will have an “All Day” option at our Short Pump and Midlothian studio that will run in conjunction with Young Rembrandts and will last until 4pm each day. Should you choose for your child to participate in the “All Day” option, the cost will be $335 plus tax.

Sessions

Session 1 – By the Sea, June 17-21

Join us as we channel our inner artist to bring everything that is wonderful about the sea… right here to Richmond! Flip flops, sea creatures and tropical flowers. If you can’t make it to the ocean, this is definitely the best way to start summer vacation off right!

Session 2 – Pets, June 24-28 ***
If you could, would you have a whole farm full of animals to love? If so, this is the perfect camp for you! Join us as we paint new pottery pals, and create gifts for the pets we already know and love!

Session 3 – Tea Party, July 1-5
Cheerio, campers! This week of camp will be unlike any other, as we prepare for the ULTIMATE Tea Party! By the end of the week, you will be fit to meet with the Queen of England… using your own tea set that we will paint by hand!

Session 4 – Enchanted Forest, July 8-12
Explore the magical wonders hidden in the Enchanted Forest! You’ll create and paint some of your favorite woodland creatures, such as owls and squirrels, and if you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of some forest fantasy creatures like gnomes, elves and fairies!

Session 5 – Wild West, July 15-19 ***
Horses, lizards, and cacti will join us on our adventure to become the wildest cowboys and cowgirls in the west! Create western landscapes and Native American inspired projects. So get your lassos ready and join us on an art adventure!

Session 6 – Winter Wonderland, July 22-26
Beat the heat this summer and join us as we create a wintery world with our imagination, filled with snowmen, penguins, hot cocoa mugs, and even a holiday item or two!

Session 7 – Princesses and Knights, July 29-August 2
Travel back in time with us as we journey through your imagination to a bountiful land, full of noble steeds, knights, princesses, dragons, and magic!

Session 8 – Sweet Treats, August 5-9
Satisfy your sweet tooth as we create ice cream bowls, candy dishes, and wet clay projects that look good enough to eat!

Session 9 – Crazy Creatures, August 12-16 ***
Join us as we let our imaginations run wild to create some really crazy creatures to keep us company! From fairy-tale animals to monsters and aliens this camp is sure to be wild!

Session 10 – Peace, Love, Rock and Roll! August 19-23
This week of camp is the grooviest! We’ll use our imaginations travel back to the ‘60s, channel our inner rock star, and create some really psychedelic art! Guitars, peace signs and of course tie-dye are all on our list this week!

Dance Camp – Ballet, hip hop, tap, jazz and ethnic dance, week of August 12^th.
