“I live in Richmond too!”
“I’ve been to Hollywood Cemetery too!”
“I know about Lewis Ginter!”
Because Halloween is right around the corner, Kate began by reading her second book, “The Spooky Sequel”, in which three Richmond kids learn about some of our local “haunts”. The TLE students were particularly fascinated by the tale of the Lady in Red, and had a lot of questions about her! (Not to be confused with Kate’s lovely assistant who was also dressed in red. It was photo day!)
Next, as a special bonus, Kate read them Richmond Rocks!. In Richmond Rocks!, three children learn about Richmond’s past by going on a fun-filled journey to some of our many historical landmarks, and learn that Richmond, VA really does rock!
Kate had a really fun visit with the kids at TLE. As a finale, Kate’s lovely assistant (The Young Lady in Red) handed out souvenir bookmarks to the audience.

The Learning Experience Academy of Early Education in Richmond was created with a young child’s every need in mind. From the nurturing staff to the enriching environment and educational activities, each child ages six weeks and up is offered the very best in age-appropriate care and academic and enrichment programming.
Classes are designed around the center’s proprietary curriculum known as L.E.A.P (Learning Experience Academic Program) that includes programs such as Phonics, Sign Language, a foreign language program, Technology, Philanthropy, Manners & Etiquette, and Physical Fitness. These programs also have a proven history of success. The Fun with Phonics program for example has nearly 90% of preschool graduates reading by the time they enter kindergarten.
One parent whose child is currently enrolled at The Learning Experience in Richmond shares their wonderful experience with Richmondmom.com:
“The Learning Experience has become a second home for me and my family. My daughter is two and has been attending TLE just shy of a year now, but she has grown and expanded developmentally at an exceptional rate thanks to the amazing curriculum she is immersed in. Placing her in TLE was the best decision I could have made for her. I know now that when it is time for her to transition into Kindergarten she will be more than ready and possibly even surpass the standards that public school will have in place.
While the curriculum is absolutely astounding what is most important to me is the love my daughter receives. The teachers have become substitute mommies for her while she is at school. I never have any doubts or worries when dropping her off because I know that she will get plenty of hugs, attention, and love while I am away at work. I could never thank TLE enough for how much easier they make my day knowing that my child is being satisfied emotionally and educationally. My only way of repaying them would be to share my experiences with family, friends, and strangers alike in hope that they will see what I see in The Learning Experience.”
In addition to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children, the center is also dedicated to teaching the importance of giving back to the community. On September 21st, the center will be hosting their first philanthropy event of the new school year ‘Operation Treats for Troops’ which is dedicated to giving back to the men and women who serve our country. There will be children’s activities, appearances by members of the local armed forces, performances by the local high school and much more.

The Learning Experience is one of the few quality day cares in Richmond that offer part-time daycare as well as full-time day care and educational programs.
But don’t take our word for it—the parents at The Learning Experience say it best!
-The facility is extremely clean and inviting. The staff is very personable and they are always available to assist our family. I am a huge communicator and am so pleased with the volume and frequency of TLE’s staff/teacher communications.
-My baby doesn’t need to “tell me” but I can see he loves his infant teachers. They are friendly, professional, and truly care about him.
My biggest challenge was finding quality daycare in Richmond at an affordable price—The Learning Experience gave me that!
-The programs at TLE open a world of fun of learning and hands-on experiences that other daycares are unable to offer. Teachers seem to have a genuine and sincere interest in the children. It’s not just “a job” to them!
-The curriculum at The Learning Experience is what will put the children in a well-prepared position for school.
The Learning Experience is having an open house on March 26, 2011, too!

Until I talked with a friend who takes advantage of The Learning Experience child development center, I had no idea how much they had to offer!
With summer approaching and moms and grandmoms looking for interactive, educational opportunities for kids, I quickly learned that this is a “must see” opportunity for Richmond parents and grandparents.
