Seattle, WA – The state’s largest nurse and health care workers’ union, SEIU Local 1199 Northwest, not only endorsed Lynne Dodson but they’re out doorbelling for her election as State Representative for the 43rd District. Health care workers will be out every night this week persuading voters that Lynne Dodson is the best candidate for quality and accessible health care for all Washingtonians.
“No one sees the need for better and more comprehensive health care than nurses,” Denise Bischofberger, a registered nurse at Group Health and an SEIU executive board member. “That’s why we’re out here supporting Lynne Dodson for State Representative. We want a strong advocate in Olympia. Someone who knows how to get things done and knows the important issues Washington families are facing when it comes to health care.”
“I’ve fought, and will continue to work for health care for all and for Fair Share Health Care until Washington State leads in the nation in high quality, accessible health care,” said Lynne Dodson.
Dodson is a teacher at Seattle Central Community College, the former President of the American Federation of Teachers Local Union #1789, a former Co-Chair of Washington State Jobs with Justice and the mother of two young adults.
State legislators Sherry Appleton, Steve Conway, Tami Green, Phyllis Kenney, Zack Hudgins, Bob Hasegawa, Karen Keiser, Adam Kline, Eric Pettigrew, Mary Helen Roberts, Mike Sells and Sharon Tomiko Santos have endorsed Dodson along with many other community leaders. A growing list of her supporters is available at www.LynneToWin.org .
