I have friends that are gay, and have life partners and while I do think there should be some sort of a civil union that allows the same rights and privligies (except child adoption) as a marriage, I have to say that marriage is between one man and one woman. As the saying goes, God made Eve for Adam, He didn't make Steve for Adam... I agree with you William. Regardless though, I did think one thing was missing in the article- a non-knowledgable reader might finish the article and conclude that Va is one of a small # of states that is "backwoods" etc. And doesn't allow it when there are 31 with constitutional bans. ny is an exception, not the norm."--thanks for that feedback. I agree with you, I hope you don't feel as if I'm 'beating up' on you. But gay marriage is bad for society. We have to have limits and set boundaries, otherwise why even have 'marriage' at all? Why not let polygamy be legal? This upside down way of thinking will eventually lead antarchy Again, Kate you are 100% correct in your response to me. Very respectful and I really do agree with you that this is your article and your opinion is ok. We are all biased to a certain degree. Kate, thank you for your response, it is much appreciated. Keep writing thought-provoking blogs. Enlightenment is the key to a forward-thinking society. Unfortunately, there is never a shortage of hate. Don't let bigots intimidate you! This was a random survey of women who read our site and follow our Facebook page. Some of the interviewees happen to be friends but I certainly don't know everyone personally, and in fact I pulled in our writer Rhonda Day who interviewed others outside of the readership circle so we'd have more diversified opinions in this article. I tried to be as unbiased as possible, although because this is my blog and not a large media-owned site I assume that I am free to express my opinions as I wish. I do agree that most folks are unwilling to speak out against gay marriage which is likely why we had less "con" responses, although I'm sure they exist. We welcome all feedback to our readers as long as it's not offensive to others, which unfortunately is very subjective. William, thank you for your feedback. This is a right that WE ALL have, regardless of what YOU choose to do in your bedroom and this is the ONLY marriage institute that SHOULD be recognized by our government because it is designed the BEST for RAISING CHILDREN...they do need a Father and a Mother. None of what I've said has much to do with the Bible, rather NATURAL law and COMMON SENSE. Please people. Althought I am a firm believer and follower of my LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am a broken person and have my own struggles with sin but I do not want the government to legislate my bad attributes. I don't force my sin that I struggle with on others and I don't try to say it is good and call people bigots for opposing me. I love you and I really wish you the very best but please don't put a child in that environment, forcing the kid to grow up very confused. Please don't cram gay marriage down my throat or say I am "hateful" if I simply oppose your view. If you want to be married, so be it. Just don't expect the government to back you on it and condone it, making it seem like a good lifestyle choice because ultimately it's not. What you do in the bedroom is between you and God. I can't wait to see if I'll get any responses or replies to this. I'd love to read them. I just hope they are LOGICAL and RESPECTFUL...and not NAME CALLING. Thank you, William btw...I woulda put this all on one comment but it only allows for so many characters so I had to split up into many diff comments.
