Kate Hall scares me.
Okay, there – I’ve said it!
I mean, she leaps over tall buildings, auctions off Richmond’s most handsome eligible bachelors, and catapults through water-slides at Great Wolf Lodge like a 10-year old. She runs miles in the sweltering heat for fun and actually enjoys it, and she Googles herself just to see what she can find — only to find a scantilly clad Kate Hall for all the world to see. She was a guest star at the RVA Comedy Club in the evening and proceeded to mimic a professional consultant at her job the next day! Kate had 3 babies in 3 weeks and lived to tell about it. And worst of all, she is not a pet-person — which actually makes me really scared – I mean, who doesn’t love pets! And, she talks about DevilBoy and reads the obituaries ‘just because’.
Yep, Kate scares me.
She bares her soul and as mothers, we all share so many of her innermost feelings and wish we could share more of her adventurous spirit and zeal for life. After working with Kate for almost a year now, I have learned an important lesson from her. Life doesn’t just happen – you make life happen every day. You turn every challenge into an opportunity and every opportunity into an adventure.
Now that I think a little more about Kate, maybe she doesn’t scare me so much. Maybe she just makes me want to be more like her.
Thanks Kate — for all you do for Richmondmoms and Richmond Grandmoms everywhere.
