The Richmond Symphony is offering children and parents another incredible opportunity to experience the beauty of concerts in a comfortable environment. It is all part of the Union First Market Bank LolliPops series and it’s scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The pre-concert festival begins at 10:00 a.m. with lots of fun for children. The March 3 event takes place at the Carpenter Theatre, 612 E. Grace Street, Richmond, Va.
“The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestera” will be an educational, entertaining, and fun event for all ages. It’s also the kick-off event for Central Virginia’s “Minds Wide Open” initiative which runs from March through June 2012 focusing on ‘Children and the Arts’.
MINDS WIDE OPEN: Virginia Celebrates Children and the Arts is a statewide collaboration o
f artists, arts organizations, and other institutions to present thousands of performances, exhibitions, festivals, film screenings, and readings between March and June of 2012. These programs will occur to honor contributions of children, artists and artwork featuring children. Any individual or group can participate by presenting at least one public program—including plays, choreography, compositions, and exhibitions of paintings, photography or films that focus on Children and the Arts.Richmond Symphony provides a valuable opportunity for children to learn more about the arts and the many ways they can enjoy and participate in concerts and other events.
