Let’s say that you are looking for a job. You see a job opening online for a director of operations. The position interests you and you apply. The company contacts you to set up a video interview. As the interview starts, the interviewer begins to describe the position. He states that it is an extremely important job. Even though it is called director of operations, the job is so much more than that. The job requires you to be on your feet most of the day and require a high level of stamina. You will potentially work unlimited hours. There are no breaks available. You can have your lunch but after the associates are done with theirs. The position also requires excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. Ultimately, the ideal candidate would have a degree in medicine, finance, and the culinary arts. The position also requires you to stay up with the associate all night if it requires. Unfortunately, you will not get any vacation or holidays. Finally, the position pays absolutely nothing.
