The entire family/community is encouraged to participate and come together to show support for fathers everywhere. On-site registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The walk/run will begin at 11 a.m. There will be drawings for participants and prizes for top finishers. After the Dash For Dads, families are encouraged to attend the VCU Wellness Block Party, 1-5 p.m., for health screenings, kids’ games, prizes, lunch, and more. Date With Dad T-shirts ($15 Adults/ $12 Youth) are available for purchase online only and we encourge you to wear them during Dash For Dads 5K Walk/Run.

While dads spend time with the children at the VCU Wellness Block Party, women, especially mothers and caregivers, are encouraged to attend part two of a conversation aimed at helping women better understand their role in supporting the father-daughter relationship. The conversation, moderated by author/talk show host Paulette Walker Johnson, will include insight from panelists to include Actor Chad L. Coleman and his former wife, who will discuss their co-parenting relationship; two formerly incarcerated fathers discussing parenting from behind bars and life after incarceration; families with fathers living in the home talking about their challenges, and more.
