Museums, Murals, Monuments: Museum District Walking Tour

April 14, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Experience Highlights:
• Get outside as the weather turns warm!
• Experience dual programming from two great cultural institutions
• Learn from a Richmond focus and a wider Virginia lens!

Home to some of the city’s most beloved cultural hubs, Richmond’s Museum District is a neighborhood that can claim 22 sites on the National Register of Historic Places, multiple museums, and a growing collection of murals and monuments. On this tour we will explore how public art, public spaces and public museums have told the story of our city for over 150 years. Participants will meet at 2:00 for a 90-minute walking tour of the Museum District and end the tour at The Virginia Museum of History & Culture, where participants will have the chance to explore Fresh Paint: Murals Inspired by the Story of Virginia, or save their ticket for a future visit!

Tickets: $10 for members of both The Valentine and VMHC, $20 for nonmembers
