Richmond Indoor Play Areas for Kids

Indoor Play Areas in Richmond

During summer, many parents are wondering what to do with the long days ahead. Most of us would agree that playing outside is one of the best things we can allow our kids to do. But, as we all know, that’s not always possible. Perhaps your kids are too small to play alone or perhaps you don’t have a yard or nearby park that is conducive to outdoor fun. Or perhaps, and this is where I find myself these day, it’s just too hot. Add the rainy weather we’ve had lately and cabin fever is no longer just a winter problem.

From parks to playgrounds to riverside paths, it’s not hard to find incredible outdoor activities in the Richmond area. But when the summer days get too hot, the rain keeps us inside, or we simply need a change of pace, it’s good to know that there are also dozens of play areas, nature centers, educational venues and even restaurants that offer a chance for the whole family to stay active while staying inside.

The following list offers some of the top indoor activities and attractions in the Richmond area. Most of them are inexpensive and many are even free. So take a look at our list and enjoy your summer – inside or out!
