Every year when my kids go back to school, there is at least a moderate amount of excitement. For them, the excitement is mostly about getting to see friends after a long summer. For me, the excitement is in thinking that, finally, I won’t hear “I’m bored” every five minutes. But, without fail, we all seem to forget the long hours that come after school. Fortunately, Richmond offers a wide range of after-school activities for those hours, including sports, educational opportunities, artistic ventures and even programs for children with special needs. So whether you’re seeking full-time before and/or after school care or just need some added enrichment programs or physical activities to round out your child’s development, there is truly something for everyone in the Greater Richmond Area.
Take a look at our list of local after-school activities and enrichment programs and find the ones that work best for your children’s interests and your scheduling needs. And, of course, if there’s an after-school activity that we might have overlooked, be sure to let us know about it at firstname.lastname@example.org!
