Each summer, SPARC’s SummerStarz performing ensemble brings a free, family-friendly performance to over 1,000 people in the community. In 2015, SummerStarz will perform the brand new, award winning musical The Grunch. Summerstarz rehearses for five weeks and then tours the Metro Richmond area for several performances, from July 20-24, 2015.

ADVANCED BRAVO! (Rising 9th – 12^th Graders)
Designed for the upper level teen who wants to dive into the world of acting, comedy and script writing. Elements of comedy improv, acting and scene work will be the focus, but students will enjoy additional workshops on music, dance, visual arts, combat, and many other exciting theatrical techniques. Learning to audition well is not easy! Students will focus on monologue selections, character development and audition management practices under the guidance of experienced professionals. Heart of Ireland
Our 4-day Irish dance camps will give your dancer a taste of both group and solo Irish dancing. Camps meet Monday to Thursday for 2 hours each day – in one week, your dancer will receive the equivalent of 8 weeks of classes! Beginners will learn the basics of soft shoe dancing and show off their skills at an end-of-week mini Feis on Thursday. Campers in our Advanced Beginner/Intermediate camp will hone soft and hard shoe skills and work on drills and brush-up for the fall semester.

Camp Diva Summer Retreat

Camp Pamunkey Ridge – Girl Scouts Central Virginia
Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp is located on 240 acres along the banks of the Pamunkey River approximately 25 minutes north of Richmond. Camp Pocahontas I and II
Campers will explore the environment and the life of Pocahontas and the culture of the Powhatan people through activities and arts and crafts. Using our re-created Powhatan village of Arrohateck, hands-on activities will include cooking, farming, hunting skills, house and canoe building, weaving fishing nets and making pottery, arrows and tools. Camp Thunderbird Outdoor Camp (YMCA)
A typical day at Camp Thunderbird may include the following: arts and crafts, camp songs and skits, music drama and dance, outdoor education and survival, hiking, fort building, archery, marksmanship (bb guns for all ages and .22 rifles for children 11+), fishing, sports and field games, canoeing, basketball, team building, swim lessons, free swim, climbing the alpine tower, and riding the zip line. Championship Chess
Summer Chess Camp will be held August 10-14, 2015 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church for Grades 2 – 8.  There are three options for camp hours:

Half Day $225 – either 9 am – 12 pm or 1 pm – 4 pm

Our 4-day Irish dance camps will give your dancer a taste of both group and solo Irish dancing. Pamplin Historical Park History Day Camps combine learning, camaraderie and fun. Passages Adventure Camp

Romp n’ Roll
The officially-fun, officially-famous Romp n’ Roll Summer Camp will run at all Richmond locations from May 26 through September 4 AND at the Children’s Museum of Richmond Central and Chesterfield locations from June 1 through August 14. Both camps are for children ages 2 through 5 years, no potty training required.  Our daily schedule is action-packed with “kid-tested, Rompy-approved” sessions including incredible gym, art and music activities! It’s like a big kids’ camp on training wheels; all the fun, learning, and excitement but without the poison ivy!

Sabot Summer
A Sabot Summer is a series of one-week camps driven by the natural curiosity of children. Each summer workshop provides children, ages 4 – 8, with engaging opportunities for exploring and developing skills, sparking new ideas and interests as well as fostering imagination and enthusiasm for the world around them. A Sabot Summer honors the individuality of children and all their intelligences.

Shakespeare Camp
Rising 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students. Students will work on text analysis; exploring Shakespeare’s characters through voice, movement and improvisational work; learn stage combat; and develop fundamental acting skills using classical theatre techniques.

Shrine Mont Summer Camps

The Diocese of Virginia’s summer camp program at Shrine Mont promotes the emotional and spiritual development of children, youth, and young adults through the fostering of a safe and positive environment for all. SkateNation Plus
Learn to SK8. The SkateNation Plus Learn to Sk8 Camp is an introductory camp for beginner to intermediate skaters ages 5-12. Students will learn the fundamentals of ice skating using a variety of instructional programs that encourage participation at the recreational level. SPARC summer camps
The School of Performing Arts in the Richmond community – SPARC – has provided incredible performing arts experience to students in the Richmond area for over 30 years. SPARC has full-day and half-day camps for students ages 4 to 18. Our summer camps are filled with singing, acting, dancing, friends and fun! With camps from June to August, every student can find a camp to make them shine. Swift Creek Mill Theatre Camp
Since 1994, Children’s Theatre Summer Camps at the Mill have offered fantastic beginner and performance-level camps that focus on voice, acting, movement and stage design, and are conducted by professionals in the performing arts. Sylvan Learning Summer Camps

The Sylvan Learning Center of Richmond is introducing Math Edge — a new activity this summer for kids to build math skills and avoid summer learning loss.

Designed for kids in grades one through five, Math Edge helps nurture students’ natural math ability and builds on core math concepts in a fun, kid-friendly learning environment alongside other kids with
similar interests. Well-trained teachers manage the small sessions of 12 students or less and offer encouragement, motivation and rewards in an effort to foster independent learning and encourage students to set personal goals. Math Edge is a unique learning experience that also allows students to build camaraderie with a small group of their peers.

Tech Em Studios
Tech Em Studios is an after-school technology program that offers classes, camps and training focused on applied computer science and computer-aided design.
