Relay Foods is onto a good thing here, Richmond.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting one of Relay Food’s star members: Ceci Laseter. Ceci schooled me on the coolness that is Relay Foods, and what they’re bringing to families all over Richmond.

Here’ s the recap:

Where: Relay Foods started in our neighboring Charlottesville, VA and is quickly spreading throughout Richmond and soon (plans the Relay team!) many locations throughout the country.

How: Relay Foods does the shopping for busy people, focusing on small, local grocery stores, specialty shops and farms, keeping groceries as fresh and local as possible.

Why: Because Richmond families (and families everywhere) are crazy-busy, and we often can’t access the local, organic goodness available to us. Relay Foods helps us make that connection.

“And it’s tons of fun,” says Ceci, who began with Relay right out of college. “We truly love and believe in what we do, and it makes every day that much more meaningful.” Through their easy-to-use site, customers “Browse-Click-Pick-up” at one of Relay’s 20+ pick-up locations, and that’s it.

The many local vendors pay Relay Foods so that you don’t have to. I thought it was a bit too good-to-be-true, and apparently so do other folks. Says Ceci, “We really do it all free of charge to the customer! Our many partners pay us to help make their goods accessible to shoppers, so it benefits everyone.” Better Food. More Living. Less Driving. Works for me! Check out their many pick-up spots here.

We’re thrilled to have Relay Foods on board as our newest site sponsor, and can’t wait to share more with you.
