The grand prize winner will receive an iPad, courtesy of Best Buy (Mechanicsville), a portrait session with Cliff Bruce Studio and a one-year Maymont membership. Terrific prizes will also be awarded to second, third and people’s choice winners.

St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Glen Allen will host faith leaders from area churches to speak for its Lenten Series. On Tuesdays during Lent, the series will offer lunch followed by a talk on this year’s theme, At the Foot of the Cross. All are invited for a time to partake of food for the body and the soul. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and speakers at 12:15 p.m. The cost is $7 for lunch or participants may bring their own. The series is held at St. Michael’s located at 4491 Springfield Road in Glen Allen. Homework Club hosted by Tutor Doctor of Richmond 3:30-5pm every Tuesday when school is in session. Complimentary tutoring assistance in elementary & middle school subjects. Richmond 2012 Walk for Wishes takes place at Dorey Park in the east end of Henrico County, the Make-A-Wish-Foundation of Greater Richmond will be holding a 5K Walk/Run on March 10. Crazy about Clay at CMoR Central! Students will learn about clay from 9:45 – 10:30 a.m. — that it comes from the Earth and that there are many different types of clay. We will look at ancient sculptures made of clay as well as modern day pottery. Students will have the opportunity to learn what a “pinch pot” is and will attempt to make one with air dry clay. They will also be able to make a free hand sculpture of their choice.

A Million Blooms kicks off with Orchids Galore! — a spectacular display of orchids in the Conservatory from Saturday, March 10 – Sunday, June 3, 2012. The celebration continues with millions of blooms throughout the spring season: daffodils, cherry blossoms, tulips, roses and peonies.
