Want to Get Involved with Youth? Check Out Girls On The Run.

There is a small group passionate ladies interested in bringing the non-profit “Girls on the Run” to Henrico.

If you have not heard of this group, it is a terrific program dedicated to inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

The program combines an interactive curriculum and running to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles in girls including their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being.

Says Jane Broadbent, one of the three group organizers, “We think that this is a wonderful program and we want to bring it to Henrico! This is the VERY beginning of our work and we have a long way to go.  Right now we are getting a group of interested people together in one room so we can see what the initial interest level is, what our resources are, and from there develop our action plan and submit our application to Girls on the Run International for an Henrico Council.”
