VA529 Year End Contributions and Important Reminders

Here’s an important reminder from VA529 about Year-End Contributions.

End of Year Contributions

Cash contributions will be accepted until noon Monday, December 31, 2012 and applied to accounts as a 2012 contribution.
Non-Cash contributions (e.g., checks and money orders) will be accepted until 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 31, 2012 and applied to accounts as a 2012 contribution.
In order to ensure that the One-Time Debit from your Bank Account on-line (ACH) transaction is applied to your account as a 2012 contribution, you must submit your request by midnight, Wednesday, December 26.

Virginia taxpayers may receive state income tax deductions for contributions to your Virginia529 account(s) – up to $4,000 per account per year. To ensure your contribution/payment is credited to the 2012 calendar year, it should be received by Virginia529 no later than 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 31, 2012.
