Her idea came about when she was talking with other teachers about the problems finding jobs as babysitters during the summer. She knew that there were probably lots of teachers or other adults who would like to babysit during summer, and lots of parents who would prefer someone older and more experienced than a tween or teenager.
Once she started moving forward with her idea to promote teachers as summer babysitters, her business took off. She soon hired Michelle Bynum as a sitter and they have worked closely together to grow the business.
River City Sitters provides highly qualified babysitters that take their jobs seriously.
Each sitter has:
- at least 2 years of childcare experience
- a criminal background check
- a valid drivers license
- dependable car
- current auto insurance
- at least a high school diploma
- and is at least 18 years of age
Since many of their sitters are teachers, they have college degrees and training for children with special needs. Here’s how it works:
- Complete the family application.
- You will receive an automatic email response stating that we received your application. The parent agreement and credit card authorization form will be attached to this email.
- Return the signed parent agreement and credit card authorization form to River City Sitters.
- Once we receive these documents, you will receive another email stating that your account has been activated.
- Login to your account to schedule dates when babysitting services are needed. You will receive an automatic email that we received your request.
- River City Sitters will send you a confirmation email once a sitter is scheduled.
- Sitter will call to confirm at least 24 hours in advance
That’s it! You receive an email minutes of completing the application to confirm receipt. Then, you are ready to get started with great babysitters.
