RevQuest: The Lion and The Unicorn game returns to Colonial Williamsburg’s Revolutionary City for the spring break season through April 21. Participants in the alternate reality game join the Friends of Liberty while they save the American Revolution by protecting the identity of an important patriot spy. During summer 2012, more than 19,000 gamers participated in the game’s first full season.

VCU Massey Cancer Center is offering free head and neck cancer screenings to the public on April 18th and 19th at a location in Richmond and in Prince George.Head and neck cancers include cancer of the mouth, throat, tonsils, nasal cavity, sinuses and salivary glands. During last year’s screening, fourteen of the 83 people screened were advised for further follow up with their physicians. Head and neck cancers are often able to be cured if detected early. Screenings are especially recommended for adults 18 years and older who smoke and/or drink alcohol, or who have a family history of head and neck cancer. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments are preferred. Please call (804) 828-5465 to schedule your appointment.

Collegiate Friday Frolic. Come enjoy time to yourself at Collegiate’s Friday Frolic, 10am – 4pm. Shop for used books, toys & clothes at our Cougar Market and then stroll over to our beautiful Garden Shoppe where you will find all of your spring planting needs. You can also shop the 40 different vendors who will be selling beautifully handcrafted items and specialty gifts. The event is organized by the Collegiate Parents Association, with all proceeds benefitting Collegiate School.

Color Me Rad benefiting Special Olympics Virginia.

Muddy Buddy Series. This muddy event, sponsored by REI, is designed for everyone to enjoy.  The event consists of a run and bike race, a team run race and an adult and child race. Pocahontas State Park.

Parent Survival Night at the Little Gym of Glen Allen. Kids age 3-10 have a blast exploring the gym, playing games so parents can have a night on the town. Reservations: 804-266-7700.

Collegiate Village Green Fair. Village Green Fair, Saturday, April 20th 9am-3pm. Since 1968, the Collegiate School Village Green Fair has been a fun filled event for the whole family. This year promises to be just as exciting. There will be great games, rides & inflatables for the kids. Parents can shop our 40+ vendors and also the Cougar Market which will include gently used toys, books & clothes. Our Garden Shoppe and plant sale is always a hit with its huge variety of spring gardening items. The SPCA will also be in attendance with their adorable dog and cat friends. When you need a little break from all the fun, visit our lunch tent for hamburgers, hotdogs, Papa John’s or Chick-fil-A. There is also a large assortment of other goodies such as our bake sale, snow cones, pop-corn,Smoothie King, and much more!!Hope to see you there. Rain or Shine!

2013 Richmond Arthritis Walk. Stony Point Office Complex. 5k walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Dogs welcome on leash. Games, activities, corn hole, face painting, dog zone, dog contests, FUNraise.

The Virginia Firefighter Games from 11am-4pm. Come out for a family day with music, food, games and kid’s activities! Regional firefighters will compete in an intense, adrenaline-fueled obstacle course, racing against time for the title of “best in class.” All proceeds benefit local charities that help our youth.

The Fifth Annual RVA French Food Festival on April 20th is pulling out all the stops to make this year’s event the biggest and best yet. In addition to the can’t-miss entrees of world-renowned Chef Paul Elbling and the fun Cajun flair of Chef Sean Murphy of the newly opened Savory Grain, two new chefs have joined the ranks to deliver even more French food options to all of Richmond.

Earth Day Celebration.  Three Lakes Park from 1-4pm for all ages. Celebrate Earth Day by learning ways to protect the environment. Wee environmentalists can enjoy a puppet show, “Magic Pots and Recycled Bottles” presented by puppeteer Kathleen Jacobs, make a craft from reused materials, and play games that promote litter pick-up and reducing waste.

Wine For Cures is a 501(c)3 all cancer awareness and research fundraiser; using the cultural, entertainment and health values of wine to lead our fun filled events. It is our goal to produce and participate in highly enjoyable projects and events that meet our mission; raising money for cancer research. Rhonda is the mother of two adult daughters and a grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren – and our only grandmother on staff. She spent 25 years in corporate healthcare managing prenatal and disease management programs.
