As a matter of fact, the rain spurred the volunteers to work faster and harder to beat the weather.
Thanks go to KaBOOM!, Chesterfield County, VirginiaChesterfield County Public Schools and CarMax for this and many more playgrounds around the country. Since only 1 in 5 children live within walking distance of a park or playground, and children ages 8 to 12 spend an average of 7.5 hours a day in front of a screen, playgrounds are needed more than ever.
Thirty (30) nationwide community-built playgrounds are being designed by children and built by volunteers from local partners, and thanks to thousands of CarMax associates. CarMax has a strong history and embedde culture of integrity, teamwork and taking care of each other, and building playgrounds for kids who need it most is an extension of their culture and mission. Their associates are actively involved in the project to encourage and support healthier living.
