Kids Love to Eat from Trucks: Gourmet Foods with Street Cred!

Written by:  Brian Roome

If you’ve been wondering where everybody’s going on Thursday evenings for kid friendly fun, food and some of the World’s most extraordinary libations….look no further than RVA Street Foodies Court at Hardywood!

Every week there is at least a dozen of your Street Foodie favorites with new carts on rotation, so there’s always something fresh!

Kid favorite wood-fired pizza, mouth watering southern beerbecue, no shortage of taco slingers, dessert and savory crepes – ooolala and of course popsicles, shaved ice and ice cream to round out your food truck adventure.

We dare your kids not to have fun – getting food from a truck; come on – and if you happen to be older than 10, same dare goes for you!
We didn’t eat lunch just so we would have plenty of room to sample some serious chow.

It started with corn dogs and hot dogs at The Dog Wagon and we quickly moved on to an amazing Gorgonzola and Apricot spread pizza from Pizza Tonight.

Of course no one in our family is going to pass up the BBQ from Estes BarBQue and Tacos from Boka Tako are a staple when they’re around!

But wait!  There’s more…a couple of chocolate and sea salt treats from King of Pops and a giant Nutella and strawberry crepe ala Monique’s Crepes, and I can honestly say we were finally stuffed.

So grab a spot on the grass, some great food and spectacular beer and let the weeks work melt away.

Festivities run from 6pm to 9pm every Thursday through the season, so make plans, execute those plans and give the food trucks a go!

For more information head on over to Hardywood!
