Auditions for The Color Purple: November 2, 2013

Do you think you have what it takes to be a star? Would you love to see your name in lights? Have you dreamed of seeing your child on stage? Then you might be able to see your dreams come true.

Virginia Repertory Theatre (VA Rep) is searching for African American adults and children ages 7 or older who are strong singers, actors, and dancers.  If you are chosen, you will perform in The Color Purple showing June 19 – August 3, 2014. Rehearsals begin around May 19, 2014.

Just head over to the VA Rep on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 10am-6pm and audition. Here’s the deal:

  • Auditions are by appointment in two hour sessions: 10:00 – noon, noon – 2:00, 2:00 – 4:00, and 4:00 – 6:00

  • Email casting@va-rep.org
  • You will be contacted the week of October 28th with audition details. Your audition slot is reserved upon signup. No further action is required.

If you’re wondering how to prepare for the audition, VA Rep is making it easier by providing the sheet music to songs on their website. They’ve also included a list of the cast breakdown to help you prepare too. All performers will be paid.
