2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Indy
Calling all racing fans! VIRginia International Raceway is one of America’s premier road courses, offering professional and amateur racing for modern and vintage classes while providing contemporary resort amenities. A prominent test facility for the automotive industry, VIR has the distinction of being named one of the top six courses in North America by Car & Driver Magazine, and southern roots and hospitality make it one of the friendliest. Conveniently located at the Virginia/North Carolina border, VIR is just a short trip from Richmond. With  complementary amenities such as lodging, dining, a spa, an exclusive driver’s club, karting, off-road racing, skeet shooting, skid pad and more, VIR truly has something for everyone. Kids 12 and under are also free to all events so it’s the perfect family outing!

VIR has two of its biggest races of the season coming up – the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Biscuitville 125 this Saturday, Aug. 16 and the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Series Aug. 22-24.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East is NASCAR’s top developmental league and will feature young NASCAR stars that will soon become household names. The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship is one of the world’s premier sports car racing series featuring some of the most technologically advanced racing cars in the world. The three-day event includes several exciting races, including the weekend’s main race, the Oak Tree Grand Prix, Aug. 24 at 4:05 p.m.

The Oak Tree Grand Prix will take place on VIR’s historic full course, which is 3.27 miles with 17 turns and 130 feet of elevation changes. Drivers top speeds of 190 miles per hour during the nearly three-hour race that includes the “climbing esses,” a section of the course considered by many race drivers as one of the most challenging and intimidating in North America.

And VIR is giving away two tickets to the Oak Tree Grand Prix to one of our readers!
