RVA Fireworks on the James. RVA Fireworks on the James is a FREE “Patriotic Family Fun” event that will feature performances by SPARC (School of Performing Arts in the Richmond Community), the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Richmond Ballet’s “Minds in Motion.” Food Vendors will be on Brown’s Island and the public is invited to bring a picnic (alcohol and pets not permitted) and a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy music.
Genworth Independence Day Celebration. Join Genworth on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 to celebrate freedom with the Heritage of America Band. The concert will begin at 6:30pm at Genworth Financial’s World Headquarters located at 6620 West Broad Street. The concert will be immediately followed by our 7th annual fireworks display. Children and adults of all ages are welcome, but please, leave your pets at home. We will have face painting, balloons, giveaways, food vendors and much more.

Ashland July 4th Celebration. It is time once again for our small town, one of a kind July 4th celebration here in the Center of the Universe. The Hanover Arts & Activities Center, sponsor of the event, has many activities to entertain you and start off your patriotic celebration with a bang. Enjoy the Walking Parade with dancing, music, and some surprises too. There’s an apple pie contest, sing-a-long on the lawn, and much more.
Old-Fashioned July 4th Celebration at Meadow Park. The festivities kick off with a flag raising ceremony. Then take a step back in time and listen to a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Living History Associates, Ltd. over traditional drum and fife music followed by a musket salute. Uncle Sam (on stilts!) will also be in attendance, as well as Jonathan Austin who will be thrilling the crowd with his mesmerizing magic and juggling.
Summer Concert Series at Short Pump Mall. July 5th celebration at 6pm-8pm.
Chesterfield County July 4th Celebration. The event, held at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds (across from L.C. Bird High School), includes an activity area for children and special entertainment. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets or personal fireworks, please. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Limited parking; roads leading to fairgrounds will be closed at 9 p.m. or when parking lots are full. Don’t miss this fun-filled event for all ages.
Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens Fourth of July Celebration. Free from 9am-5pm. Guests are invited to wear red, white and blue and bring wagons and strollers to decorate for a “parade.” Enjoy music, WaterPlay and fun activities in the Children’s Garden.

An American Celebration at Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA). The home of our first commander-in-chief celebrates George Washington’s contribution to America’s independence and freedom on July 4th with its annual Red, White and Blue Celebration from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. All events are included in regular Estate admission.
37th Annual Independence Day Parade and Celebration sponsored by the Ruritan Club. Free event by The Beaverdam Ruritan Club. There will be plenty of food and fun for the kids and adults, along with a cornhole tournament that can be enjoyed by all and games that allow both the kids and adults to compete against each other. We will have a 3-Legged Race, an Egg Spoon Race, and a Hog Calling Competition with a live pig to \”answer the call\”. Fire and rescue competitions will be held in addition to parade competitions. There will also be a Miss Beaverdam competition for ages 2 – 5 and 6 – 12.

Colonial Heights July 4th Fireworks and Family Fun. Free event – Begins at approximately 9:15 pm. Viewing locations for the fireworks will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area. Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs.
July 4th at Monticello. Just a short drive for lots of fun. Monticello is the historic home of Thomas Jefferson, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. Each Fourth of July since 1963, Monticello has honored America’s Declaration of Independence with an inspirational Independence Day Celebration and Naturalization Ceremony. Gates open at 7 a.m. and attendees should plan to arrive at least one hour in advance of the 9 a.m. ceremony. Dave Matthews, best known as the lead vocalist/guitarist for Dave Matthews Band, will be the featured speaker at Monticello’s 51st annual Independence Day Celebration and Naturalization Ceremony-the oldest continuous naturalization ceremony outside of a courtroom in the United States.

Summer in the Park with Friends. Noon-6pm. What could be much better than spending a lazy summer Sunday afternoon in Richmond’s Forest Hill Park? Richmonders have done it for decades, but for the past eight years, “Sunday in the Park with Friends” has taken on a special new meaning.In the spirit of Forest Hill Park’s former days as an early 20th century amusement park, there will be plenty of old-fashioned fun and games for kids, as well as live music, and artisan vendors. On June 30th, the park will explode with balloons, bubbles, bands and so much more! The kids will enjoy clowns, face painting, carnival games balloons, make-and-take crafts, Jonathan the Juggler, puppets by Barefoot Puppets magicians tree climbing and other activities. All activities are free.
Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death! Reenactment Series. 1pm-3pm. Since 1976, St. John’s Church Foundation has presented historical reenactments at the original location of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. Professional actors in 1770s attire portray ten delegates, including Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington. The delegates engage in the debates and arguments of the Second Virginia Convention, which lead up to Patrick Henry’s immortal “Give me liberty or give me death!” speech.
Drummer’s Call at Tredegar Park. 1pm-2pm. From the time to get up to the order to charge, Civil War soldier’s lives moved to the beat of the drum. Join a costumed interpreter to learn about the importance of drums, bugles & fifes to Civil War soldiers North and South.

Huguenot Volunteer Fire Department 4th Annual Independence Day Celebration is Sat. Jun 30th 2012 at 5:00 pm. The event will be held at 2693 Rocky Oak Road in Flat Rock. The celebration features live performances by the local band Everwilde and rising country artist Amber Hayes. Also available are inflatable rides for the kids, which includes a 65’ Water Slide, food and craft vendors, a dunking tank and an awesome fireworks display which can be viewed in 3D that begins at dusk.
Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. Free fun for the whole family Join us for our spectacular event in celebration of America’s Independence! Parham Road Independence Day Parade – The 3rd Parham Parade and Festival will take place on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Richmond, Virginia. RVA Fireworks at the Virginia War Memorial on the James - Celebrate the birth of our nation, honor those who gave their lives to secure our freedoms and enjoy the greatest view of the city! Come early and bring your lawnchair and picnic, or enjoy our All American food vendor with hamburgs and dawgs! Bring a picnic too. At sundown fireworks commence. Free and family friendly. The Henrico County Community Band plays from 6-7pm in Heilman Amphitheater.
King’s Dominion Fireworks – Top off your Independence Day with roller coasters and fireworks at Kings Dominion. The theme park will host extended fireworks July 3 and 4. There will be military bands, vehicles and personnel. U.S. servicemen and women with valid ID get free admission.

Ashland July 4th Celebration - It’s an Independence Day tradition. Beaverdam Fourth of July Parade – This 5 mile extravagant parade is in it’s 26th year of existence. Food, games, contests, races, vendors and more. The parade starts at 10 am in downtown Beaverdam passes in front of the judges at the Suntrust Bank then meanders past the Beaverdam Elementary School and turns right on Teman road to end at the Beaverdam Ruritan Club where volunteers offer up roast chicken dinners. Busch Gardens IllumiNights! Busch Gardens celebrates summer with IllumiNights, a nightly extravaganza featuring live performances, music and special effects that culminates in a park-wide firework spectacular. Beginning July 1 through August 19 each country will celebrate IllumiNights in its own way with multiple performances throughout the evening. Fifty nights of fireworks provide a perfect beginning to celebrate July 4 and a perfect ending to a summer evening
Chesterfield County July 4th Celebration – Celebrate our independence with a spectacular fireworks display at dark! The event, held at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds (across from L.C. Bird High School), includes an activity area for children and special entertainment. No alcohol, glass bottles, pets or personal fireworks, please. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended. Limited parking; roads leading to fairgrounds will be closed at 9 p.m. or when parking lots are full. Don’t miss this fun-filled event for all ages.
Colonial Downs Racing to the Stars & Stripes – Watch the horse races, catch a concert and watch the fireworks all at once at Colonial Downs. New layout this year. Enjoy 10 horse races followed by a trackside concert & fireworks. Fireworks will be shot midway around the first turn this year & general admission attendees will be allowed access to the dirt track after the races to get a better view of the fireworks display.
Colonial Williamsburg July 4 Celebration – There’s no better place to celebrate independence than the town where so much history was made. Bring your family and spend the holiday with us this July 4th. As darkness falls, high flying aerial fireworks visible from much of the Historic Area celebrate our nation’s birthday. The best places to see these spectacular fireworks are from Market Square, Palace Green, or the Public Hospital grounds. Parking is available at the Visitor Center but, due to heavy traffic, shuttle bus service to the Historic Area is not available from 8:45 until 10:45. Shuttle bus service is available with or without tickets on the 4th of July. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m., and a whole day of special programming precedes them

Genworth Independence Day Concert a day early! Join Genworth on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 to celebrate freedom with the Heritage of America Band. The concert will begin at 6:30pm at Genworth Financial’s World Headquarters located at 6620 West Broad Street. The concert will be immediately followed by our 7th annual fireworks display. Children and adults of all ages are welcome, but please, leave your pets at home. We will have face painting, balloons, giveaways, food vendors and much more. We have plenty of free parking and will be offering transportation between the parking lot and the event site for those who need assistance. This event is free and open to the public.

King’s Dominion Fireworks – Top off your Independence Day with roller coasters and fireworks at Kings Dominion. The theme park will host extended fireworks July 3 and 4. There will be military bands, vehicles and personnel. U.S. servicemen and women with valid ID get free admission.
Patriot’s 5K – A 5K Run/walk on the beautiful trails at Robious Landing Park in Midlothian, VA. Celebrate the 4th of July with and for the Wounded Warriors Program.
Science Museum of Virginia – Water Bottle Rocket Challenge on Wednesday, July 4, 11 am-3 pm. Come cheer us on as we attempt to help set a Guinness World Record for water bottle rocket launches! We’ve teamed up with the joint NASA and University of Central Lancashire effort to set the world record for the most number of water rockets launched in one day. We’ll launch rockets 11 am-3 pm and send in our results to be included in the totals collected by the organizers. Included with admission.
Together for Tanzania- We’ve added three large inflatables for kids and will have other fun children’s activities. Walter Bozwell’s band will return to entertain us the entire evening. Good, varied food can be purchased from Gregory’s Grill, and if you’ve ever tried his crab cakes or barbecue, you know just how delicious they are. Great and interesting vendors will be on hand to share their crafts and information. The BEST, BRILLIANT FIREWORKS SHOW will top off the evening at 9:00 p.m. If you have never been to this beautiful property, you won’t want to miss this event on July 4th. Gently rolling rural land with plenty of room for parking and even larger area for entertainment and fun. Bring your own blanket or chair and expect a wonderful, fun time.

Participants gather at 1 p.m. at Henry Clay School. The parade is 1/4 mile and starts at 1:30 p.m., ending at Hanover Arts & Activities Center at 2 p.m. for a lawn party. Apple pie contest, children’s crafts, children’s games, Most Patriotic Pet awards, music and sing-along by Hanover Concert Band.
