Flying High and Feeling Young Again http://richmondmom.com/2014/05/28/flying-high-and-feeling-young-again/ http://richmondmom.com/2014/05/28/flying-high-and-feeling-young-again/#comments Wed, 28 May 2014 20:44:48 +0000 http://richmondmom.com/?p=57725 This may come as a surprise to some of you (it surprises me regularly) – I’m no spring chicken.  My late nights of dancing with friends have given way to 2am potty assistance and my fancy dinners out now happen at Chipotle.
But this past Friday, man, I was 18 again.  Giddy and nervous after climbing the 108 steps to take one of the first rides on the new family thrill attraction at Water Country USA, Colossal Curl.

Colossal Curl is the only slide in North America to have both a 24-foot funnel feature and a 40-foot wave element on one slide.  It towers high above the tree line near the park’s entrance and practically demands attention from guests entering Virginia’s largest water park.

I could write all about the twists and turns, but you know what they say – “A video beats the heck outta words”
So here it is:

#ConquerTheCurl.
CurlColossal Curl is sure to whet the appetite of thrill seekers of all ages. This high-adrenaline, action-packed water slide adventure features a funnel element that swishes and swirls up to four riders aboard a cloverleaf-shaped raft before whisking them through the slide’s enclosed tubes on their way to a 40 foot tall wave element that hurtles them high above the park’s landscape.
We’ll be there again on Friday – come find us!  My preschoolers are a bit to young for Colossal Curl; but I can’t wait to share all the hot spots for the under 5 crowd after our trip!
And you only have a few more days to get your Preschool Pass, if you haven’t already.  It provides the under 5 crowd FREE admission to both Water Country USA and Busch Gardens VA all season long!
