Greater Richmond SCAN

The Third Annual SCAN 5K Race is taking off on Saturday, February 26, 2011 in front of Whole Foods Market, Short Pump. The event takes place at the West Broad Village Shopping Center and offers opportunities for adults and kids:

  1. Kids Fun Run – 8:30 a.m.
  2. 5K Run Start – 9:00 a.m.
  3. 5K Walk Start – 9:05 a.m.

There’s also a family festival following the run right in the village shopping area at Dave and Busters.

This is also a great way to prepare for the Monument 10k and you’ll find many of the Mother Runner’s here too.

Registration

Race registration is $20 in advance, or $30 on race day. Registration is just $10 for the kids fun run. The first 600 registrants will receive a race t-shirt.

Register online at  www.raceit.com. You can pick up race packets at the Whole Foods store on Friday February 25, 2011 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. There will be plenty of FREE parking so head out to the West Broad Village to participate in the race, or cheer the runners on to victory.

Awards will be given to Top Runners and Top Fundraisers, along with prizes for the best “Power of Blue” Costume. Whoever wears the most SCAN blue or wears it most creatively will receive a prize.
