Let us shake your nerves and rattle your brain with the world premier of Great Balls of Fire! Comets, Asteroids, Meteors. This new exhibition at the Science Museum of Virginia lets you attempt to save Earth from an asteroid, or (even more fun) send an asteroid to your zip code and see what would happen! Watch some of your favorite movie and TV clips to determine if they represent science fact or science fiction. Great Balls of Fire! and the highly acclaimed IMAX® film Hubble open Saturday, May 28, at the Science Museum of Virginia.
Hubble takes you on a complex rescue operation as astronauts risk their lives making vital repairs and upgrades to the Hubble Space Telescope. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, the film takes you from the heart of the Orion Nebula and the Milky Way to the edge of the observable universe —places in space and time where no human has gone and possibly never will.
Great Balls of Fire! is a Space Science Institute exhibition. Support comes from the National Science Foundation and NASA. Hubble is an IMAX and Warner Bros. Pictures production, in cooperation with NASA. It has been rated G.
