Tickles and Giggles upcoming sale will take place on August 26-28th in the Ashland, VA area located off Hill Carter Parkway near the Ashland, Wal-Mart. Our consignors, volunteers and shoppers are looking for the best value for their children’s needs. We try to link our customers to child and family-friendly businesses and resources. A portion of the proceeds will help benefit Hanover Safe Place. Hanover Safe Place is the Domestic and Sexual violence shelter and resource center for Hanover County.
Locks of Love – Join Design One Salon and Spa for our annual Locks of Love Cut-A-Thon. This event is to benefit children who have lost their hair to cancer treatments, injuries, burns, or alopecia areata. We will be collecting hair donations as well as financial donations. 10 inches minimum length required for a hairpiece. 6-10 inches will be accepted and sold by LOL to offset manufacturing costs. Haircut and style is complimentary to all participants. Walk-ins are welcome, reservations preferred.
Art Works – Every August we partner with the Richmond SPCA for a night of dog and cat art, silent auction, fund raiser, fashion show and fun with our pets! 3 other shows open as well. Meet the artists and bring your pet!

The exhibition includes more than 500 objects and will be at VMFA July 9 – October 2. The Russian jeweler Karl Fabergé crafted objects for the Russian imperial family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including specially commissioned Easter eggs. VMFA’s collection, the largest public collection of Fabergé outside of Russia, includes five of the thirteen Russian imperial Easter eggs that are in the United States.

PARK CLOSED ON AUGUST 27 DUE TO HURRICANE – Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular at King’s Dominion – New for 2011 is, “Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular,” a million dollar nighttime walk-through light and sound experience featuring Snoopy and the PEANUTS™ gang. Designed using a dazzling mixture of low energy and high efficiency LED lighting, this immersive light and sound spectacular will be located along the park’s center walkway, from the Eiffel Tower to The Grove area, featuring 1.2 million LED lights.

9th Annual Seafood Splash – Join us August 27 for the 9th Annual Seafood Splash. It features all you can eat crabs, fish, chicken and more. Also local and regional artists will be performing. This event is from 12pm to 7pm and features a big pool, paddle boat area, basketball court, and horseshoes.
