The Lives of Twin Girls Taken Too Soon

I cannot begin to understand or comprehend what happened with the young 3-year old twins who were found dead this weekend at their father’s home. Such tragedy and horror is beyond belief. When the story broke on TV8 News, I was in shock. Another situation with innocent young girls whose lives were cut short.

The situation is still under investigation, and although it is described as suspicious, the police are not currently looking for suspects. According to NBC 12 WWBT , the mother of the twins, Kristina Hooper who was going through a divorce from her husband, “told police there was some flexible duct tubing going from the exhaust pipe of a van outside the Wynbrook Lane home into the bedroom where the bodies of Robert King and twins Caroline and Madison were found, according to the warrant.”

As a mother and grandmother, my heart breaks for this woman and her son (The NBC 12 report indicates the girls have a brother but he was not at their father’s home when the tragedy occurred). Picking up the pieces after something like this seems like an almost impossible possibility.

Life is a precious gift and seeing this young father and these two young lives taken too soon reminds me of how fragile life can be. Hug your children and grandchildren every day you see them and remind them how much they are loved. And remember this woman and her son in your prayers and as they attempt to move forward from this dark hour.

A vigil is being held for the twins Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. January 31, 2012 in front of the home on Wynbrook Lane.
