From April 16, 2012:
With all the dust up surrounding the Bully documentary, a hard-hitting look at childhood bullying and its devastating effects on the victims and their families, there has been a lot of talk about where and when it will be released. After a very cautious initial opening in NYC and LA, the film’s distributors celebrated the newly adjusted MPAA rating of PG-13 with a much wider release.
So, luckily, the concerned parents, teachers and school administrators of Richmond now have the chance to see this important film, but only for a short time. The Regal Westhampton on Grove Avenue is currently showing the film nightly at 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm, with more showings over the weekend. As of today, the film is only scheduled to play through this Thursday, but there’s a chance it will be picked up for another week. Richmondmom.com will give you a heads up if this happens.
So please take the time to go see Bully. Go with your friends, neighbors, your kids. And we’d love to hear what you think. Post your comments about the film on our Facebook page. If enough people go see Bully, Regal Cinemas may decide to carry it another week, allowing even more Richmonders the chance to see it as well. The more of us who are in tune with the pervasive issue of bullying, the more we can make a difference as a community.
