WHAT:
AT&T and DRIVE SMART Virginia will be speaking to the entire James River High School
Student body to discuss the dangers of texting and driving. Those who send text messages while driving are 23 times more likely to be in a crash.
During the assembly, the students will learn first-hand the drastic and unintended consequences that can come from just one text.
Students were also invited by DRIVE SMART Virginia to create their own public service announcements about the dangers of texting while driving. The winning PSA will be shown during the event. All PSAs are available to news teams.
This event is part of campaigns by both AT&T and DRIVE SMART Virginia to educate teens about the dangers of texting while driving.
