The Hope Tree Project at Lewis Ginter from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Hope Tree Project exhibit, organized by Richmond author Meg Medina, will feature area high school students’ art. The students will decorate five crape myrtle trees in the Children’s Garden with foil symbols expressing the students’ hopes, dreams or aspirations for themselves or their community. Music for a Cathedral Space at Sacred Heart Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m – Songs from Musicals‚ Love Makes the World Go Round is a benefit concert for the preservation of the magnificent Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Saturday and Sunday is the Richmond Multisports (RMS) Power Sprint Triatholon at Shady Grove YMCA which will include 3 para-triatheletes for the first time ever. They will do the full tri on adaptive equipment. Get more information here.

Richmond Concert Chorale at Church of the Holy Comforter Sunday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. – The Richmond Concert Chorale, directed by Grant Hellmers,with Crystal Jonkman, accompanist, will present their annual spring concert at Holy Comforter on Sunday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. The Chorale will sing Psalm settings by Sweelinck, Schütz, and Schubert; Magnificat by Pachelbel; fourpart-songs by Parry; Chansons des roses (five songs with words by Rainer MariaRilke) by Lauridsen; Hymn for St. Cecilia by Howells.
