Richmond Mompreneur: Karen Bullard with a Flair for Fancy

When she's not chasing after two kiddos, Karen loves to create, design, and of course, send a personal note on her original stationery.

Karen Bullard is a stay-at-home-mom and  interior designer, which is enough for anyone’s plate, but she turned her passion as an artist into a stationery design business as well.

Her own stationery line, karen cole paper, was launched in 2004. Six years later, the conceived the idea of bringing her very favorite high-quality brands to her customers at a reasonable price, and Paper Fancy was born! Karen’s blog followed soon after as a personal touch to share ideas on celebrations and thank-you’s.

Their mission? Superior customer service, great prices, highest quality design, all in one spot. She’s doing something right, because she was listed on Startup Nation’s 2011 Leading Moms in Business Competition. Not too shabby, Karen.

We love that they give back: each year a percentage of sales is donated to childrens charities, including the Childrens’ Hospital Foundation and Hebron Day School, where Karen serves on the Boards.

Just one of the fun party items on Karen's site, Paperfancy.com.

PaperFancy has more than personalized notes, though–we think their personalized iPhone covers are simply adorable. There are party accessories, gifts and all the accessories.

Karen and family.

Building moments to celebrate with the perfect accessories while balancing it with home and community: no wonder Karen loves her job so much.
