I first learned of Mackenzie Payne’s family when a friend posted on Facebook about Lukefest, an
annual fundraiser partnering with the McShin Foundation for the Luke Cockey Scholarship Fund. Luke, who passed away in his twenties, was Mackenzie’s brother. Their family’s story and struggle with substance abuse really
struck me as a story that needed to be told.
What I didn’t know was that Mackenzie was a budding entrepreneur and quite the gal-about-town
with her fabulous Mac’s Smack products, made from all-natural ingredients. She was sweet enough to send me a couple of these cool and ridiculously yummy-smelling products, both of which my five-year old quickly absconded with.
After looking into Mackenzie’s story and learning more about her organic way of living as well as the local partnerships (we dig those, too, go RVA!) we decided to follow Mac’s Smack on Facebook and check out their products sold locally and on Etsy.
Holy cow, these are pretty darn neat, and how fun is it that the products are chock full of ingredients found in nature.
I gotta get my own stash of Mac’s Smack and keep it on higher ground, away from the little gal.
