Unraveling the Mystery of Children’s Mental Health – From Brains to Behavior: October 12

Back to school is a time of excitement and fun. But for some kids and parents, it’s also a time of frustration, anxiety and stress.

According to Rupa S. Murthy, Director of Development, Department of Psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University:

“As kids go back to school, stress levels rise and for some children, this triggers a mental health issue – we typically stay full for the first 3 months school is back in session. This is the one time a year national experts descend on Richmond to talk brains and behavior of our children.”

That’s why the Presidential Symposium on Children’s Mental Health is presenting a seminar in October.

Dr. Michael Rao, President of VCU, presents the 50th Annual Child Mental Health Conference. Experts from around the nation come together at the State Library on October 12, 2012 for an interactive discussion on cutting edge science and family friendly approaches addressing mental health concerns of children, teens and families.
