Mother’s Breast Milk a Gift After her Own Child’s Death

Heidi L. Soloman

As an avid reader of blogs it’s rare that one stops me in my tracks; this one, however, did just that. After one of our readers posted Heidi’s story in our Facebook group I was compelled to read it. Heidi Soloman, mom to infant son Jonah who was only on this earth two short days, was producing breast milk and wasn’t sure what to do when she left the hospital, sadly with no bundle to bring home.

At the encouragement of a friend, Heidi continued to pump her breast milk and distributed it to preemie babies who need it most. You can read Heidi’s heartbreaking and heartwarming post on Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope.

This blog is an amazing resource for those who have experienced any type of pregnancy or infant-related loss and is one we’ll be referring back to so that we can share resources with our Richmond parents.
