The Bizarre Bazaar Spring Show in Richmond attracts thousands of people for a shopping extravaganza during the first weekend of April. This year, a special opening day event will allow shoppers to beat the crowds and support a local charity.
What’s it all About?
The Spring Spree event at the Bizarre Bazaar is a unique fundraiser on April 5th from 8a.m. to 10a.m. where attendees can start shopping early before the general public, while supporting at-risk children at Virginia Home for Boys and Girls (VHBG).
Spring Spree event attendees will enjoy breakfast, high-end door prizes and stroller-free shopping before the doors open to the public on the opening day of the Bizarre Bazaar. A ticket includes
- bag check
- all day access to the two exhibit halls filled with unique decorations, clothing, jewelry and gourmet treats
Proceeds to Benefit VHBG
Proceeds from the Spring Spree event will support critical programs for children and families at VHBG. The nonprofit organization in Richmond, which is a home for approximately 50 at-risk kids from across Virginia, helps teenagers struggling with mental illness, abandonment, abuse or neglect.
VHBG youth live in campus-based group homes in a family style setting to help them develop positive life skills and independent living skills. The families cook, play games, ride bikes, watch movies and attend community events together.
The agency also has an alternative school and intensive community-based services to support children and families in their home and school. Since 1846, more than 20,000 children have found a home at VHBG.
“We’re honored the Bizarre Bazaar selected us as the beneficiary of this exciting shopping event. This partnership will help fund important programs for our youth and ultimately improve the lives of children in our community,” said Claiborne Mason, President of VHBG.
Recognized as one of the 200 best shows in the country for over 10 years, the Bizarre Bazaar has more than 250-juried exhibitors, including small businesses, craftsmen and artists.
