Puritan Cleaners 100,000 Meals for Kids – Puritan Cleaners partners with the Central Virginia Food Bank & Feedmore each Spring to raise food & funds to help feed kids during the summer months when they are out of school and the need for food increases. This year’s 100,000 Meals collection runs from May 19th to June 8th. Bring your non-perishable food or funds to any Puritan Cleaners location. Every donation is needed and appreciated.

The Richmond Pork Festival with the Embers, The Konnection, The Rhondels, Overtime, and lots of pork and beer! Oh there’s plenty to smile about at the Virginia Pork Festival. Down here you’ll find nothing but good friends, great food and lots of fun! What else wouldyou expect from the world’s largest outdoor barbecue. Last year’s event attracted over 15,000 people representing 32 different states. And each year they all come back for more. unite@night – a one mile casual evening walk, in various locations around the country, during the month of June. This walk will bring together people who are suffering with the devastating effects of Chiari malformation, syringomyelia, and related disorders. Richmond’s walk is at Innsbrook on June 15, 2013.
Juneteenth, A Freedom Celebration. From 4:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m., there’ll be African dance & music, spirituals & speakers, children’s crafts, & more, plus you can take a torch-lit night walk along the Trail of Enslaved Africans. Manchester Dock is located at 1308 Bander St, Richmond. It’s free to attend the Juneteenth Festival. Juneteenth (June 19, 1865) is considered the date that the last slaves in America were freed.
International Juggling Day. World-touring award-wining performer and Richmond’s own hometown boy, Paolo Garbanzo, is bringing you TWO SHOWS in one day, and a workshop. Kids Show- 2pm and Juggling Workshop 3pm. Gallery 5 in Historic Jackson Ward, 200 W. Marshall St., Richmond, Virginia 23220. World-touring, award-winning performer, and Richmond’s own hometown boy, Paolo Garbanzo, is bringing you a show and an all levels workshop. Also expect additional entertainments for kids: Face Painters and more.

Richmond.com Uncorked Wine Festival: It’s a day of wine sampling, live music, local artists, plus food. Uncorked brings together the finest in Virginia food and wine for a one-day outdoor festival at the Virginia Historical Society. Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the gate; $5 for designated drivers.
Richmond Vegetarian Festival: for food, music, and family fun visit the Vegetarian festival at Bryan Park. Please bring a can of vegetables to the Festival for the Lamb’s Basket! The Lamb’s Basket is an emergency food pantry located in Lakeside serving the hungry of Henrico County.

Father’s Day Picnic with the Flying Squirrels. For just $60, two people get all-you-can-eat buffet at the Picnic Zone for 2 hours, two Diamond Club seats, first pitch between Dad and Child prior to game start, and a Flying Squirrels money clip for dad. Richmond Philharmonic will perform a FREE family concert, An American Summer, in The Gardens at Sunday Park in Brandermill. The music starts at 6:00 p.m. & features music from George Gershwin, Cole Porter & other American icons, including tunes from West Side Story, Carousel, The Wizard of Oz, and Wicked; the “Overture to a Summer Night” by Carl Roskotte; & more. There’s limited seating available inside the pavilion, so it’s wise to bring blankets or lawn chairs with you when you go.
