If you’re wondering what all the hype is about for the Redskins Training Camp at the “Bon Secours Training Center”, you’re not alone. Lots of people are asking questions.

And Richmondmom.com has answers!

Okay – there’s the obvious benefit to watching hunky football players in action – but there’s more!

First of all, training camp is an annual ritual in NFL football that fans love – so having the Redskins Training Camp right here in our fine city of Richmond makes it awesome! Thousands of fans will clamor into the stadium to see their favorite pro team practice.

What to Expect

It’s all open to the public and they’re even holding a Fan Appreciation Day on August 3, 2013 that you don’t want to miss!

  • Admission to training camp is free for all fans.
  • Fans can print out their own invitation for the camp by visiting this link.
  • Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase on site.
  • Outside beverages and food are allowed on the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center premises, with the exception of alcoholic beverages.
  • Since the Redskins Training Camp is so close to the Science Museum and CMoR, fans can also take advantage of special exhibits that will be featured during camp.

Park with Care

With thousands of fans headed to practice every day, parking will be — well, more fun than usual.

Beware of ‘no parking’ zones because towing could be a problem if you don’t adhere!

The Science Museum of Virginia is doing their part to help during the training camp. In order to make sure that members and guests have full access to summer fun at the Science Museum of Virginia, they’ve opened additional parking spaces. Museum parking will continue to be free for all guests and members.

The Children’s Museum of Richmond Central has also issued some important parking guidelines. There will be one point of entrance into the parking lot: the Broad Street-East Loop into the Science Museum of Virginia. There will be one point of exit from the parking lot: the Broad Street-West Loop from the Science Museum of Virginia.

The full list of available parking lots, including additional parking for Fan Appreciation Day, can be found at the Bon Secours website. You can save some frustration by planning ahead for parking options and taking advantage of shuttles when possible.
