Annual Charity Fundraiser at
Primrose School of Swift Creek & Primrose Midlothian at Waterford
Chesterfield Community Danced Together; Raises $5,700
Primrose School of Swift Creek & Midlothian at Waterford demonstrated their commitment to making a difference. The private preschools held their annual charity fundraiser in honor of Primrose Swift Creek student, Macie Moore, who is winning the battle against Leukemia. The schools helped make giving back a top priority in the local community as the local children’s band, The Diggity Dudes, played live tunes while raising money to support a worthwhile cause. This year’s event raised $5,700 which will be donated to ASK—The Childhood Cancer Foundation.
“We wanted to support a family that has been a part of the Primrose family for 7 years, while at the same time building awareness around a wonderful charity in Central Virginia,” said Leighanne Chilmaid, the owner of both Midlothian private preschools. “Not only were we able to raise funds for a great cause that is so near to us, but our annual charity event also gave Primrose families an opportunity to come together in a fun and exciting way.”
Giving back to the community was a major focus of the event and a key component of the exclusive Balanced Learning® curriculum, which balances character development with academics and play.

About ASK- The Childhood Cancer Foundation
ASK is a 501(c) non profit organization which provides financial, spiritual, social, and emotional support directly to children and families.
ASK was founded in 1975 by a small group of parents of pediatric cancer patients at MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA. They joined together to provide mutual support, to search for answers and to deal with the devastating diagnosis.
Today ASK continues to walk in the footsteps of its founders, determined in the mission “Making Life Better for Children With Cancer.” ASK steps in at the time of diagnosis to help the family deal with the non-clinical side of what’s happening. While the hospital and medical staff focus on the treatment, ASK works to provide the children and their families with the quality-of-life support they need.
