Grandparent/Grandchild Event

Taking place in November at Henricus will be a Grandparent/ Grandchild event on November 9. Scheduled from 1-4 p.m., activities will include Colonial make-and-take crafts with a focus on history, art and fun. Registration is required one week in advance by calling 804-318-8797. Price is $5 for adults and $3 for children for all attendees.

“Friendship, Trade and Feast”

Join English and Virginia Indian period-dressed historical interpreters at Henricus Historical Park on November 23, 2013 for an event celebrating the autumn harvest feasts and fun common to people in 17th-century Virginia. This event will pay homage to the first “Thanksgiving” in English America, which took place in Virginia 1619.

Admission for “Friendship, Trade and Feast” which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is free for Henricus Foundation Patrons, $8 for adults and $6 for children aged 3-12. Please join Henricus Historical Park for the smells, sounds, and frolic of the 17th-century past.

“Affairs of the Hearth”

On November 30, Henricus will offer “Affairs of the Hearth” exploring 17th-century cooking in the daily life of English soldiers, middle-class Colonists and Virginia Indians. Admission for the event which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is free for Henricus Foundation Patrons, $8 for adults and $6 for children aged 3-12.

Henricus Historical Park is located on 32 acres along the scenic and historic James River and is surrounded by the 810-acre Dutch Gap Conservation Area.
