Director Kasey Lemons brings an all star cast together for a film adaptation of Langston Hughes’ play Black Nativity in what, without a doubt, will become a new holiday classic. This movie is a great way to get the holiday season started with a focus on love, faith and family through soulful music and a heart warming story.
Black Nativity
As a Baltimore teen raised by a single mother (Jennifer Hudson), Langston travels to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with estranged relatives, the Rev. Cornell Cobbs (Forest Whitaker) and his wife, Aretha (Angela Bassett). However, Langston soon finds that Cobbs has strict rules, and the youth is unwilling to follow them. Instead, he sets out on a return journey to his mother and finds the value of faith, healing and family along the way.
