RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 15, 2014 – Area Fas Mart® stores are launching a promotion on January 15, 2014 that could make one lucky shopper and one online contestant each $1 million richer.

Richmond nonprofits HomeAgain and Caritas were nominated by employees of Fas Mart convenience stores to vie for a chance to win $20,000. In short, HomeAgain and Caritas are among about 15 nonprofits in the markets served by Fas Mart’s parent GPM Investments that could win the $20,000 by accumulating the most votes online at

Fas Mart®’s Million-Dollar Scratch Card Game has two parts:

  1. An in-store component where customers purchase a specified product, such as a candy bar or soda, to receive a scratcher card and can instantly win cash prizes by scratching off the right boxes; and,
  2. A second chance to win $1 million – by submitting a code from the bottom of the scratcher card to Every game piece has the potential to be a winning card for various cash prizes ($1, $2, $5, $10, $50 and one $1 million card) in a game that includes $5 million in potential prizes.

Fas Mart® has about 20 stores in the Metro Richmond area so there are plenty of locations to visit!

Customers also will be encouraged to vote for their favorite charity among a list, which initially includes about 15 nonprofits nominated by employees in markets served by Fas Mart® parent company GPM Investments, LLC. The nonprofit organization with the most votes will receive a $20,000 donation from GPM – there is no purchase necessary, and anyone can vote for their favorite nonprofit.
