SkateFest is an epic event full of skateboarding, free gear and a ton of the most legendary prizes to ever hit the DC Metro area. The weekend celebrates Go Skateboarding Day with family friendly activities for all ages: music, games, food, giveaways, skateboard vendor tents, the Sk8 For A Cause, Skate Competition all to benefit Children’s National Medical Center.
The Skate Competition on Saturday features 5 main events and skaters from four separate age groups will compete for 42 custom prize packs. Over$20,000 in prizes!
Children as well as adults from up and down the east coast and all over Virginia, Maryland, DC, are invited to come out to the 9th annual SkateFest & “Sk8 For A Cause” at Wakefield Skate park / Audrey Moore Rec Center (Annandale, Va) on Friday and Saturday, June 26 & 27. The event will raise money for Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. SkateFest has raised over $38,000 through the festival’s philosophy of kids raising money for kids and attracts over 1,000 spectators and 300+ participants.
The festival features two separate events. “Sk8 For A Cause” is open to all ages/levels and participants are encouraged to get family, friends, neighbors, and businesses to sponsor their ride with donations for Children’s National Medical Center. The Skateboarding Competition’s preliminary rounds will be held on Friday, June 26 with registration beginning at 3 p.m. The final rounds will kick-off on Saturday, June 27 after the “Sk8 For A Cause” ride.
There will be over $20,000 in prizes, trophies and giveaways. The top finishers in each age group and category will receive prize packages that include brand name gear, skate decks and more.Once again, registration is open to children and adults of all ages and levels.In addition to “Sk8 For A Cause” and the Skateboarding Competition the festival will feature a live DJ, food, vendors, prizes, giveaways, moon bounces, and much more for the whole family!
